I was delighted to present a cheque for £10,000 from the West of Morecambe Fisheries (WMF) to Fleetwood Fishermen’s Mission.

WMF is a not-for-profit UK company established in 2013, funded by the owners of several UK offshore wind farms. They manage funding provided by offshore wind farm owners. These funds are used to finance, set up and support Community Projects that are of direct benefit to the fishing industry that operates in the same areas as the wind farms. They work closely with relevant sectors of the fishing industry to identify suitable Fishing Community Projects.

I presented the cheque to Rev George Ayoma the Superintendent of Fleetwood Fishermen’s Mission, an organisation that provides direct practical support to individuals and families. Best wishes to all involved.
