All ages, all abilities take part..

Huge congratulations to the organisers of the new Fleetwood Promenade parkrun – a fun community event every week starting at 9am on Saturday mornings.

For those not in the know, all over the country, thousands and thousands of wheelchair users, kids and runners head to their nearest parkrun to take part in a 5km run. You don’t have to run fast – everyone runs for their own enjoyment so go along and join in whatever your pace!

Parkruns are open to everyone, they’re free, safe and easy to take part in.

Last Saturday 192 people took part in the Fleetwood Promenade parkrun but organisers would like to see more local people getting involved.

So don’t be shy, nervous or embarrassed – you don’t have to be Paula Radcliffe to get involved.

All you need to do is register here www.parkrun.org.uk/register/form/ and you’re good to go.

The course is a flat out and back course. Starting behind the Marine Hall, head south along the promenade beyond Rossall Point Observatory to the turnaround point and then return to the finish.

Also, every week participants grab a post parkrun coffee in the YMCA Café – please go and join them!

For more details go to www.parkrun.org.uk/fleetwoodpromenade or the Facebook page Fleetwood Promenade parkrun.

Have fun!
