I recently visited the Children’s Ward of the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and met with the Ward Manager Laura Norton (right) and some of her team before being taken on a tour of the facilities. The staff on the ward do an amazing job. Despite facing very challenging conditions that exist in the NHS, every day they make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their parents and carers. I have enormous respect for them and I’m grateful for them taking time out of their busy day to update me on the issues they are dealing with.
