Cat Smith Working for Lancaster and Wyre
I’m so pleased the 2C Sunday bus service has returned to Over Wyre!
My family and I had a great time on Saturday in the village of Knott End re-launching the service along with a team from Blackpool Transport.
If you don’t already know, the Sunday service allows you to travel in style on one of the latest Palladium buses – with leather seats, wooden flooring and USB charging points on every seat – along with nifty little gizmos that allow you to prop up your device for easy viewing.
The first bus will leave Knott End at 09:30 and the last one will leave the village at 18:30.
I’m also in discussions with Jane Cole and Shane Grindey from Blackpool Transport about introducing a Saturday evening service between Knott End and Blackpool – I’ll keep you updated!
The most important message though is ‘Use It Or Lose It’! The Conservative’s austerity measures mean that Lancashire County Council no longer subsidises rural services. It’s therefore essential that residents use the bus services regularly to ensure the company can afford to run them.
I was also told at the launch that the bus drivers love our route because it gets them away from the traffic and into the countryside so let’s support their enjoyment by getting onboard and enjoying the journey in luxury!
