Fancy a Saturday night out?

Special Saturday Journeys from Poulton to Knott End!!!

After discussions with Blackpool Transport I’m delighted to announce the company has agreed to trial a later service running from Poulton to Knott End every Saturday throughout August!

The trial will help the company to understand the demand for later services on Saturdays and they hope that with enough people using it, they’ll be able to continue to run later services on a permanent basis. If the service isn’t used by enough customers they’ll be unable to run later services beyond the current trial period, so as with our Sunday 2c service its a matter of ‘Use It Or Lose It!’

When does it run?

It will operate two departures from the St Chad’s Church stop in Poulton Town Centre. Journeys will depart from Poulton at 10:30pm and 11:30pm and run to Knott End ONLY following the usual 2c route. The special service will run on Saturday 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st August.

How do I travel?

As this is a trial  you must pre-book your ticket in order to travel on the bus. You will not be able to turn up and pay the driver on the evening for this journey as it is a special private service. Your cooperation in pre-booking will be much appreciated and legally the driver will be unable to carry any customers who don’t have a pre-booked ticket.

You’ll be able to get off the bus at any of the regular stops along the 2c route, but you will only be able to board from Poulton Town Centre.

How much does it cost?

The ticket price is just £3 for a single journey from Poulton to Knott End, much cheaper than any other means of travel! The ticket price is the same for all ages, other than children under 5 who will travel free.

How do I book?

The easiest way to pre-book your ticket is using the mobile app. Simply download the Blackpool Transport app from Google Play or the App Store and look for the Poulton – Knott End Special ticket located in the mobile tickets section.

If you don’t want to book using the mobile app, you can visit the Customer Centre on Market Street to purchase your ticket, or you can call the team on 01253 473001 (option 2) during office hours and purchase your ticket over the phone. Tickets purchased over the phone must be made by 12 noon on the Thursday before your planned journey date so they can post your paper ticket to you.

I’ve got a Concessionary Travel Pass or a Saver Ticket, is it valid?

Unfortunately, as this is a private scheduled service you won’t be able to use your Concessionary travel pass or any Blackpool Transport saver ticket, including 24 Hour, 3 Day, 7 Day & 30 Day tickets.

If the service is busy enough during the trial Blackpool Transport will look to permanently run later services on a Saturday, which means all ticket types would be accepted in future.

I really want this to be a success but Blackpool Transport can only do so with your help in using the service. Please let your friends and family know who may wish to use this service. If you need any help in planning your journey or would like to contact Blackpool Transport for any other enquiries, contact a member of the team.
