Cat drops in to meet young people taking part in the National Citizen Service

I headed over to Rossall School in Fleetwood yesterday to speak to some great young people who’re taking part in the National Citizen Service.

The scheme is designed specially for 16 and 17 year olds with the mission to help young people have a clearer idea of what they want from their futures.

The NCS team in Fleetwood hope to engage, unite and empower young people, building their confidence so they can go out and achieve their dreams, no matter where they’re from. From the life skills they develop to the friends they make, the ambition is to give teenagers an opportunity to unleash their potential, to build their self-belief and get them prepped for life after school.

And then they got to speak to me – about politics! But it was a brilliant chat about how young people can use their voices to bring about change regardless of what background they come from. I wish them all the best and hope they have a brilliant time over the next few weeks.
