Cat Smith Working for Lancaster and Fleetwood
I had a lovely visit to Wallings in Cockerham, who as you may know, produce the most amazing ice cream!
The farm was purchased by great grandfather Tom Walling back in 1948 when farming and the countryside was a thriving place to live and work.
Since then, many farms have had to diversify to survive and Wallings is no exception. There is still a working farm which provides the ice cream production with its major raw material, fresh milk, ensuring a true ‘cow to cone’ experience. The farm also provides the animals; calves, sheep, hens and alpacas which are enjoyed by many of the visitors.
As always I left with some work to do on behalf of the company – but at least it gives me an excuse to return again sometime soon!
