Cat asks for action from Lancaster City Council

A number of residents have been in touch regarding the grass verges at Burrow Beck, particularly at the section which runs parallel with Lentworth Drive.

Vegetation is overgrown alongside the Beck and would obstruct the flow of water if there is an above average amount of precipitation.

While I appreciate that the Beck may not be due having vegetation cut back yet, my constituents in this part of Hala have been flooded a number of times, with the most recent occasion being in August 2020 following particularly heavy rain. For them to see the Beck overgrown again serves only to make residents feel anxious and potentially increase the flood risk of the area if we see heavy rain following the recent dry weather.

I’ve asked what action the City Council will take, and I hope to update the affected residents as soon as I can, hopefully with some good news.
