Cat Smith Working for Lancaster and Wyre

Over the past couple of weeks and following storms and flooding, residents in Pilling have been experiencing intermittent power cuts.
However, I am aware that some of these issues have been long term, with residents experiencing occasional outages during all seasons.
I have been in touch with Electricity North West, to ask what they are doing to ensure that this is fixed, and they have advised:
We are aware of a transient fault in the area and have been trying very hard to eliminate possible causes. Last week the following work was completed:-
- 4 poles changed
- Abnormality removed from Links at Muffys Platt
- Abnormality removed from Links at Cockers Dyke
- Urgent tree cutting at Cockers Dyke
- Birds nest removed from Tongues Fm GVR
- OI206 removed and maintenance completed at Proctors Fm S/S
- Lambs Ln ABS repaired (LL programme D.Till 00942F2024 running concurrently)
- Network restored to normal running arrangement
- Faulty disc insulator found at Cockers Dyke
- 3 line patrols completed in 2 weeks
- Further tree cutting planned
This circuit is top of our list in South Lakes and we are concerned with the number of trips, so in addition:-
- We have pathfinders out on the circuit (these have already been moved round twice to try and find the fault).
- We have installed linesight on the circuit.
- We are checking protection grading issues internally.
