Cat Smith Working for Lancaster and Wyre
Earlier this week, the Transport Secretary announced extra funding for local bus services across the UK, with a specific focus on protecting rural bus services and serving smaller towns. This comes alongside the Government’s Buses Bill, which will finally put control over local bus services into the hands of local communities rather than private companies.
I am pleased to say that Lancashire will see some £27m of additional funding for bus services.
Since I was first elected in 2015, I have been pleased to deliver better bus services across Wyre and Lancaster: from improvements on the 2C service, to delivering the new 88 route linking Garstang, Knott End and Lancaster.
In light of this new funding for Lancashire, I want to hear your views on how buses can better serve our communities across North Lancashire.
Please complete the following form to let me know your views so that I can write to Lancashire County Council, suggesting how this new funding can best be spent.
