I have been contacted by businesses in Garstang who are concerned about the timing of the two-week temporary road closure on High Street in the second half of November, given the run-up to Christmas as a peak trading time.

It’s been suggested that it would be more appropriate for the works to take place after the Christmas and sales period, perhaps in late January, so as to limit any loss of income and footfall from the closure.

This is a completely reasonable request, and so I have contacted Lancashire County Council and the Greater Garstang Partnership Board to ask they consider delaying the works.
