For #LancashireLovesLocal last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Northern Delights, a unique store where you can find one of kind gifts, antiques and collectables. Situated within the Northern Lights Building at 89 Scotforth Road, Northern Delights is certainly a local treasure-chest, of fun, quirky and locally sourced items. You can pick up anything from hand-crafted candles (that smell delicious), jewellery, stickers and stationery to model parrots and plant pots!

Having opened just last year, Joanna explained to me that opening up Northern Delights has been a new, but exciting endeavour for her, having previously worked in a different field. Although Joanna is relatively new to this, you can’t tell! Joanna mindfully handpicks her products, and many of them are produced by UK artists and craftspeople that also have small independent businesses.

I would urge you all to drop in and see for yourself how special this shop is, especially if you need a last minute gift for someone or if you enjoy collecting antiques – there is something for everyone.
