RNLI saves lives
RNLI saves lives

Saturday 28 July from 10am to 4pm

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Head over to Fleetwood Lifeboat Station on The Esplanade and join in with Fleetwood Lifeboat Day 2018.

  • Lifeboat display
  • Fundraising stalls
  • Meet Stormy Stan
  • Refreshments
  • And a great fun day raising funds for an amazing cause!

The Fleetwood lifeboats are usually joined by lifeboats from the neighbouring stations of Lytham St Anne’s, Morecambe, Barrow in Furness and Blackpool.

The Fleetwood boathouse is the focus of the day’s activity, with many stalls selling homemade cakes, face painting, tombola prizes and many other things. They will be joined by Fleetwood Coastguard and National Coastwatch Rossall Point.

The day starts with the Shannon class Fleetwood lifeboat, Kenneth James Pierpoint and the ‘D’ class inshore lifeboat, Mary Elizabeth Barnes, escorts the lifeboats from our neighbouring lifeboat stations, into port.

The sail past, by yachts from Fleetwood Marina, will start shortly afterwards, with a prize being given for the Best Decorated Yacht.

The lifeboats will then give demonstrations of both their speed and agility, climaxing with the Shannon’s spectacular ‘crash stop’.

I hope you have a fantastic day and raise lots of money for this amazing charity!
