I’m really excited to see our arts spaces starting to reopen. Today I went to catch up with the team at The Dukes in Lancaster where a new programme of events is now in the pipeline.

Next month sees the return of the ever popular outdoor show where the enchanting Williamson Park becomes the setting for a fun and fresh adaptation of the Brothers Grimm’s beloved fairy tales, making for a perfect adventure for all the family to enjoy.

Written by Andrew Pollard and Directed by Sarah Punshon the show sounds brilliant – full of catchy songs, fantastic sets, dazzling costumes and playful direction, I’m told this laugh out loud story will sprinkle some magic on our summer. It starts Tuesday 27 July so quick, get your tickets before they sell out!

A big congratulations to all the team at The Dukes for trying so hard to keep things going over the last 15 months. I know its been really difficult and you’re not out of the woods yet. Fingers crossed things start to pick up. A big thank you to Director Karen O’Neill for updating me on how Covid has affected the arts sector.
