Cat supports bus services across Lancaster and Wyre area

For too many people, bus services are infrequent, unreliable and, frankly, don’t even exist.

On the back of my successful campaign to get Blackpool Transport to reinstate the 2C Sunday service to Knott End, I am calling for services to be reinstated to our rural villages and links within urban areas to be improved.

For communities like Pilling and Caton, bus services are essential to enable people to get to work, school or even see some friends.

It’s crucial that bus links here are more frequent and run on evenings and weekends. In Fleetwood, I regularly receive stories from constituents telling me how hard it is to get to the Blackpool Vic without a direct bus service, and in Lancaster, too many new homes lack any public transport whatsoever.

I hope Lancashire County Council begin to reverse years of cuts to our bus services and I encourage everyone to respond to this consultation. You can see my response to the consultation below:
