For the last few weeks, I’ve been promoting my Cat’s Community Champion Award asking people to nominate those in their community who have gone above and beyond to help others over the last 12 months.
Thank you to everyone who entered – every single one of the nominees would have been worthy winners.
But just pipping them at the post were brothers Hasan and Musa Etlik who own Chatties Chippy on Chatsworth Avenue in Fleetwood. Throughout lockdown, and now, they support their community by making sure children and people in need don’t go hungry. So many residents from the Chatsworth Estate have written praising their kindness and their selflessness.
I offer them my thanks for all they have done and continue to do.
And to all of those who were nominated – we are deeply grateful for all you do. I suspect your goodwill is going to be called on more as we face the next few weeks and our communities are the richer for knowing you are there and ready to help.
There will be a certificate in the post to all nominees – each and every one of you deserve to have a little recognition for the important contribution you make on a daily basis.
