I’m delighted to tell you that after lobbying Wyre Council they’ve finally agreed to install solar way marker lighting ‘within the pathway, from Preesall Park car park to Cedar Avenue.’

I’d been approached by a number of residents who expressed feeling fearful when using the path at night – particularly during the winter when we lose the light so early.

Understandably, the council has been hesitant to install overhead street lighting, due to the cost and the impact of light pollution to nearby residential properties. I hope therefore you’ll agree this is an acceptable compromise.

I hope this makes a difference to all members of the community who use this path to access the park facilities or as a cut through from residential areas to the shops. Another campaign success!
