For months I’ve been battling with Miller Homes on behalf of residents of Pottery Gardens in Lancaster.

Having built the homes, the developer had left the conditions of the road joining the existing highway in a shoddy condition, leaving many residents unhappy with the finished quality of the development, as well as creating other issues as part of the developer handover to local authority/utility company control.

Developers should not be able to leave new-build estates in poor condition, but as we know, the Government seem to be expanding rights of developers and not new giving new homeowners the confidence, recourse, or rights which they need to tackle poor work like this.

I’m pleased to have been pushing hard for a result, and finally I’m delighted that share that Miller Homes have recently appointed a new contractor to carry out the works, and that this resurfacing has now been completed!

Thank you to everyone on the new estate who has been in touch with me on this issue, our persistence paid off!
