Plans are in place to close Lancaster Magistrates’ Court for an indefinite period due to the lack of a legal advisor.

This plan which takes effect from 25th October is wrong.

I have today written to Brandon Lewis, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice voicing my opposition to this closure, and calling on him to reconsider this decision as a matter of urgency.
