Cat marks UK Parliament week with a visit to Lancaster Steiner School on Lune Road.

I was delighted to be able to mark UK Parliament week with a visit to Lancaster Steiner School on Lune Road.

UK Parliament Week is an annual event, spreading the word about what Parliament is, what it does and how you can get involved. You’ll get a kit that helps you get informed about your UK Parliament, take action and make an impact on the issues you care about.

Last year over 1.1 million people took part in every nation and region of the UK, and countries all over the world.

Almost an hour of questioning from the lower school of Lancaster Steiner School saw me grilled on climate change, tree planting, the new King and how MPs are elected.

I was incredibly impressed by how engaged the pupils were and the questions they raised which gave me plenty to ponder on the train down to Westminster!

My thanks to the Katie Gatsby and the rest of the school community for making me feel so welcome!
