Government try to find new site for test centre
Government try to find new site for test centre

No response from him, but I have now heard from Richard Holden MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport.

The Minister states that driving tests will temporarily take place from Kirkham, and that there should not be an increase in and around Kirkham as the DVSA strongly encourages learners to drive on a variety of different roads.

He does however state that the DVSA is committed to finding a new permanent site for a driving test centre in Blackpool.

I am far from convinced by the Minister’s letter and think that his comments regarding traffic in Kirkham is based on wishful thinking. Nevertheless, I am glad that a new permanent site continues to be sought in Blackpool and very much hope one can be found soon.

I will keep pushing the DVSA and Government on this to find a resolution for local learners and instructors.
