This week I visited Relic Plastic for #LancashireLovesLocal, an amazing local, environmentally conscious business that are doing their part for the planet. They take plastic waste that has little-to-no value and make great high-quality, handmade products.

From plant pots to soap dishes, and tables to tiered shelving, their products are both ethical and sustainable, as well as local!

Martin the Co-Director, gave me a tour of their manufacturing unit where they sort, produce and display their unique products raging from hair combs to bespoke furniture. It was amazing to see how the plastic we throw away can be repurposed, instead of spending hundreds of years decomposing in landfill.

You can find out more and explore their products at: www.relicplastic.com/

If you want to get involved with Relic Plastic and their exceptional recycling efforts, you can! They are in partnership with the The Plastic Bottle Top Project, an organisation that collect, clean, count and sort plastic bottle tops and distribute them to places like Relic Plastic, that can give waste more value as beautiful new objects with a longer life. You can search their drop off points at www.relicplastic.com/pbtp.

I would encourage you all to check Relic Plastic out, they even have regular ‘sorting parties’ where you can get involved with colour co-ordinating the plastics and meet some fun new people!
