We’ve all seen near-misses on the Norcross roundabout over the last couple of years.

The number of accidents occurring on the roundabout is very alarming, and I share residents’ concerns that the efforts to increase capacity and make it safer by expanding lanes and introducing traffic signalling is actually causing more confusion for motorists.

Unfortunately, there are also a minority of motorists who deliberately misuse the lanes to cut off traffic, such as those using the 2nd lane from Skippool to turn into Bispham – which I’ve seen for myself on several occasions!

I’ve written to National Highways for answers on the number of accidents, and what they are doing to make the roundabout safer.
