I was delighted to visit all of the children at Winmarleigh School last week. This was ahead of their school trip to London where they will be having a tour around the Houses of Parliament and I gave them some insight about what to expect from their trip.

When it was time for them to ask me questions, the little ones asked if I had pets and the older ones raised their concerns about the climate emergency, girls’ education globally, the pink tax and animal welfare issues. They absolutely blew me away with their interest in activism and global political topics!

They are true testament to their incredible teachers who they all agreed deserve a fair pay rise for the work that they do.

I hope the KS2 children enjoy their upcoming trip to London and the Houses of Parliament, I think I might have inspired one or two to go into politics…

Winmarleigh is a small village but it’s children have big ideas!
