It was a treat to join Michelle and Nigel last week to walk a mile of the magnificent Morecambe Bay coastline for Morecambe Bay Partnership’s amazing project, Bay Lines – Beach of Dreams.

I got to walk along one of my favourite stretches of coastline from Knott-End on a perfect sunny day, which brought out the beauty of the bay even more. I spoke to Michelle and Nigel about what the bay means to me, how lucky I feel to live here and what a privilege it is to represent the interests of people who also care deeply about the Bay, as their MP.

The Morecambe Bay Partnership Charity are asking anyone that has story to share about what Morecambe Bay means to them, to choose one mile from 120 miles that have been mapped out, and walk or cycle it, enjoy it, explore it and then share your thoughts about it, and what the future might hold for it.

It was a lovely experience, although it was difficult to choose just one place that holds meaning for me having grown up in Barrow, then making Lancaster my home and having Morecambe on my door-step, as well as, working in, and representing the people of Knott-End & Fleetwood. I have so many ties to the Bay and I know that it means so much to many of you too.

If you’d like to get involved please do so and you can read more about the project over at: https://www.morecambebay.org.uk/beach-of-dreams
