EFRA Committee
EFRA Committee

Some of you might now that I recently jumped at the opportunity to join the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Select Committee (EFRA), in addition to my position in Parliament on the cross-party Environmental Audit Committee (EAC).

I am very aware that urgent and transformative actions are necessary to address the climate crisis and that is why I am taking up every opportunity possible both locally and in Westminster, that will help towards securing sustainable efforts towards net-zero.

EFRA exists to scrutinise the Government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and we are currently launching a survey about soil health for farmers in England.

The Committee is eager to hear about farmers’ experiences in improving soil health and the results will play a crucial role in the Committee’s inquiry, where we will be assessing how the government supports farmers in preventing soil degradation and restoring soils across our beautiful country.

If you’re a farmer (or in a similar profession working with soil) and would like to participate, your contribution would be immensely valuable.

You can click here to be redirected to the survey and you can find further details about the inquiry here.

Please do also feel free to contact me at cat.smith.mp@parliament.uk should you have further questions or need support on this or any other matter.
