Residents of Skerton and Scale Hall have been in touch with me and local councillors to express their concern about poor mobile signal in their area.

Over the past few months I have been working with Lancaster City Council, the Environment Agency and O2 to address connectivity and environmental concerns relating to the 1 Supa Skips Site on the Lune Industrial Estate, where O2 have masts on the chimney which are broken and not connecting the Marsh and Quay area residents. You can read more about my work on this at www.catsmith.co.uk/o2.

I’m concerned to see that connectivity is an issue across more areas of Lancaster, and it seems on this occasion the responsibility lies with EE, who it is believed own the equipment in this area which is having issues.

I and Jean Parr, Martin Gawith, Robert Redfern, Sandra Thornberry, Ruth Colbridge and Phillip Black have written a joint letter to EE to ask what they are doing to address this, demanding that this be urgently fixed. You can read our letter below.

What you can do:
As we believe that the equipment is owned by EE in this instance (though it may be used by other networks), we have also set up a customer complaints form below for EE customers to claim for compensation from the company.

Firstly, use your postcode to check EE’s status checker here: https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee (and be sure to select ‘check status’). If there is an issue listed for your postcode, please feel able to complete this form, which will automatically be sent to EE and a copy to yourself.
