This week I was so pleased to be invited to the Neuro Social Day event at Kings Community Church Lancaster, hosted by Fiona who founded the Neuro Early Onset Café group which runs on the last Wednesday of every month from 5pm at the Whitecross Pub, Lancaster.

Fiona, who lives with Parkinson’s disease set the group up for those living with Neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s, Dementia and Alzheimer’s and their carers to give people who are diagnosed earlier in life, an opportunity to socialise and to ultimately have fun with people that have shared experiences.

The Neuro Social Day event had experts from Age UK Lancashire, the Alzheimer’s Society, Parkinson’s UK, and Citizens Advice to offer a helping hand to anyone who dropped in the event and there was also a selection of amazing homemade cakes.

Thank you to Fiona for creating such an amazing group and for hosting this event.
