Some of you may remember that last year I ran the London Marathon in aid of St John’s Hospice. St John’s Hospice are there when you need them, they hold hands through the toughest of days and help create lasting memories.

Throughout my work I meet countless individuals and families who sing the praises of the caring staff that work there, the longer-term bereavement support and especially their work with children. The vast majority of the funding they need is collected through fundraising, which spurred me on to run the London Marathon for them last year.

This year, I have decided a 26.2 miles marathon isn’t far enough! On the 11th of May I’m taking on a new challenge by covering the distance from Keswick to Barrow. Yes, 40 miles through the stunning, yet quite hilly, Lake District. It’s my most ambitious challenge yet to raise money for a local charity and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t anxious that I may have taken on more than my legs can carry me. I’d love to say I have been training hard, but I haven’t, it’s been tricky to find the time. Anyway, now that I’m sharing this with you all, there’s no going back now!
