Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the centre, where I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness by everyone.
I made a new friend, Edna, who is an incredible knitter! She proudly showed me the beautiful poppies she has been making to support this year’s Poppy Appeal, and I’ll be wearing one of her hand-knitted poppies with pride over the coming weeks.
For Edna, this cause is especially close to her heart as her grandson serves in the army. Edna’s work is a wonderful reminder of the care, creativity and sense of community that places like Vale View bring to local people every day.
Thank you to Edna and everyone at Vale View for such a warm welcome, lets do everything we can to keep your centre open!
Lancashire County Council have opened their official consultation on the future of the centre, which can be visited at www.catsmith.co.uk/consultation (this automatically directs you to the council’s consultation page). I would strongly encourage everyone complete it before the consultation closes on 12th December 2025.
