When I was out speaking to residents recently, many people raised their concern about the state of the Ridge Playground.

Broken glass, missing fence panels, old equipment and damaged playground surfaces. This isn’t good enough. I have been trying to get Lancaster City Council to sort this out for years, yet no action has been taken.

Our little ones deserve a playground which is safe and up to date.

To make a start, I have conducted a litter pick the playground and clear the broken glass so it is at least safe again.

More broadly though, it is not right that, when other parts of Lancaster see new play equipment, the Ridge Playground is overlooked time and time again. That’s why I am making approaches to different groups for funding to properly replace and renew the playground.
