For many months now the tram stops at the Broadwater stop in Fleetwood have been in disrepair. The vandalism on the roof and side panels meant that people had no shelter from the elements.

Unfortunately this was difficult to solve as I was passed from pillar to post in finding who had responsibility to do this, with Blackpool Transport and Lancashire County Council each pointing me in the direction of the other.

But I am pleased to report that after months of pushing, I have been successful on working with Blackpool Transport and Blackpool Council to secure the necessary funding for repairs, and a new tram stop has finally been installed.

I’m delighted that we have been able to get this done. King George’s playing field is a place where families come together on big sporting days, and to see our tram stops in such a state gives a really poor first impression of the town, which is why I’m so glad we’ve now got this fixed.

I’ve been busy working in this area for many months now, as last year I was pleased to support local businesses and residents to successfully get Fleetwood Road repainted, as this was causing confusion and deterring customer parking at the busy Broadwater junction, and then a few months on successfully get the light signalling fixed at the same junction as the sequencing was giving priority to smaller roads which led to huge build-ups of traffic on Fleetwood Road.
